The food supply chain is indeed a long journey of farm to table. Operations at the farm, quality of raw materials supplied, storage, handling, available human capital resources, processing technology, packaging, distribution etc needs to be tracked and measured to consistently meet consumer needs, regulatory requirements, and ensure sustainability of food business. Academic and commercial science of food needs to co-create and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for collective good of the food industry. This meeting aims at illuminating the concept of performance management and tease actors and stakeholders in the food supply chain in Nigeria, towards a KPI measurement framework that can collectively move the Nigerian food industry forward.
